The only way to kill the house is to destroy its heart, its source of life. The house breaks free from the house's foundation, with trees to support it (the arms), and chases the group to a nearby construction site. That night, DJ has a nightmare where the house's shadow prepares to grab him and he wakes up when he receives phone calls from Mr. Nebbercracker's house with no-one on the other end. DJ eavesdrop on Zee's boyfriend, Bones, who tells Zee about losing his kite on Nebbercracker's lawn when he was younger, and that Nebbercracker supposedly ate his wife. Parents

Chowder states that authority can be unreliable then makes a farting sound with his armpit, which Jenny doesn’t find amusing. Immediately afterwards, the three watch the house eat a dog and realize the house only moves when its unsuspecting prey gets close and decide to call the police. Bizarre supernatural events cause a dead woman’s tormented soul to possess a house and the property around it. When the home is finally destroyed, we see Nebbercracker embracing a misty specter in the shape of his wife before her liberated spirit is whisked off to who-knows-where. [Spoiler Warning] Not actually dead, Nebbercracker returns and acts nobly alongside the kids.

Meeting Jenny Bennett

They find the body of Constance, Nebbercracker wife, encased in cement. DJ, Chowder, and Jenny force the house to vomit them outside by grabbing onto the chandelier in the foyer (the uvula). The trio are surprised when Nebbercracker arrives home alive, but with his arm in a sling, revealing that the house is possessed by Constance. The trio seek advice from Reginald "Skull" Skulinski, a strange video game addict working in a pizza parlor who is claimed to be an expert on the supernatural.

DJ tries to recover it but is caught by Nebbercracker, who rages at him before apparently suffering a heart attack and being taken away in an ambulance and Chowder heads back home. Later, DJ and Chowder spy on the house but Chowder refuses to believe the house is possesed. He crawls up to the house, and on his way he finds a beer bottle (left by the drunk Bones).

About the Film

Chowder, DJ, and Jenny also appear in the video game adaptations of the film. In the game, they have to explore the house as they try to find the heart. DJ and Chowder argue about their hatred of Mexican food and about Jenny while she calls her mom, but is not believed.

Despite his immaturity, he is shown to be civil when interacting with Jenny. Chowder is a featured article, which means it has been identified as one of the best articles produced by the Sony Pictures Entertainment Wiki community. After the incident with the Monster House, Chowder and Jenny still remained close friends and he was not jealous of Jenny starting a romantic relationship with DJ. Chowder formally had a crush on Jenny but remained friends with her.

While DJ and Chowder are still watching the house, Zee comes in and asks if they have seen Bones as he never returned the previous night. The boys realize that Bones has been eaten by the house after learning about the beer bottle, as the boys tell her. Zee thinks that the boys are telling stories and she goes out to find Bones. DJ is given the dynamite, and he and Jenny get accidentally thrown into the huge pit where a lake has been drained. Chowder managed to bring the house down into the pit where it crumbled to pieces. Thinking that they won, they cheered until the house starts to reconstruct itself by making it a deformed monstrosity.

The sheriff finds a bottle of the stuff and takes a covert chug. DJ arrives at the construction site where luxury tower apartment buildings are being built there, he finds Chowder in an excavator making stupid noises and he tells him to shut up. As they talk, Chowder accidentally starts the engine until DJ takes the keys out and says that he needs Chowder's help, which Chowder reluctantly agrees. Charles "Chowder" is the deuteragonist of Monster House, is a 12 year old boy, who is DJ's best friend. While being chased by the enraged house after DJ persuades Nebbercracker to let Constance go for the better, Chowder attempts to slow the house down, before being rushed to safety by Nebbercracker. When Constance attempts to attack Nebbercracker, Chowder pilots an excavator and attacks the house to save him.

While Jenny speaks to her mom on the phone, DJ and Chowder talk about hating Mexican food and "calling dibs on a girl". The trio then sees a dog starting to pee on the Monster House's lawn, the house then grabs the dog with its tongue and pulls it inside just like a frog does. Overhearing this, Constance becomes enraged, using two trees to lift the house from its foundation and chases her husband and the children. Nebbercracker tries to comfort Constance and explains everything is for the best, but when she realizes his intent to destroy her with some dynamite, she attacks him. As Chowder combats Constance with an excavator from a nearby construction site, the trio then lure her into it. Swings out on a crane's hook with it, dropping it into the house's chimney and vanquishing Constance.

Chowder enters a circus-themed area where he plays games to find the missing eye and nose of the clown on a merry-go-around to move forward and reunites with DJ and Jenny. DJ tells Nebbercracker it is time to let Constance go, but she overhears. The house breaks free from the foundation, with trees to support it (the arms), and chases the group to a nearby construction site.

It quickly becomes clear — to a plucky boy-detective type named DJ and his two young sidekicks, and then to everybody else — that the ramshackle Victorian is possessed by a malevolent, demonic force. And since this is a movie aimed at an audience for whom the grosser bodily functions are a perpetual source of laughs, it vomits them up again. The house roars, belches, spits fire and in the end turns out to be...Kathleen Turner. One of the spooky archetypes of childhood imagination — the dark, mysterious house across the street — is literally brought to life in “Monster House,” a marvelously creepy animated feature directed by Gil Kenan. Against his friends' protests, DJ tries to talk some sense with Nebbercracker about the truth behind his wrathful and suspicious behavior.
